I loved stayed at Palazzo Grillo. The location is ideal. The building's public spaces are exquisite. The breakfast is very good (despite the automated machine-made coffee) and is served on a delightful terrace. The staff is lovely.
We stayed in a "Jr Suite Deluxe" with a nice view of the square. The room was not huge (although it is one of the largest the hotel offers) or luxurious, but was very comfortable for two people, with good storage for clothing and a small reading nook. I appreciated the minimalist design, the bare (clean) floors, and the chic, retro Smeg fridge. The bed was very comfortable.
My one complaint is the bathroom. It was spacious, with a window — however, frustratingly, it is poorly designed, with a silly modern rimless sink and no rack or shelf to store toiletries. (We ended up having to shove the towels / hairdryer / tissues in the closet to make space in the bathroom.)
This hotel was the private home of a Nobel family from hundreds of years ago (sorry I forget how many years). It was in a pedestrian zone, so there are no cars. but the hotel offered a tuktuk to pick us up at the parking garage where they have a special deal. The hotel was impeccably renovated, and there was a beautiful room on the third floor. It was a combination, library and recreation room with a view of the square. The rooms were nice, the beds were comfortable and the linens were good quality. They had a nice breakfast on the top floor. The area is quite nice with lots of shopping. It’s a short distance from the. Cathedral but the church next to the hotel was just as impressive(see photo). The staff was very nice. I would go out of my way to stay there again.
What a lovely discovery! This Hotel was the home of a noble family and is located in the heart of Genova's fascinating historical centre. Everything I wanted to see was within walking distance. And once back at the hotel, I enjoyed the fine and rigorous architectural renovation of a 14th century palace in harmony with the modern and design furnishing of the room and common areas. Breakfast on the top floor, overlooking rooftops was lovely with a good selection of sweet and savoury. The staff was welcoming and helpful. This hotel's character, heritage and a certain Italian understated elegance was a source of continuous inspiration.

Well located in the centre, however it's no possible to park nearby (but we knew this)
Absolutely beautiful hotel! The building is amazing and the rooms are new and clean! Absolutely perfect and romantic hotel! I have no complaints! Both stairs or elevator. Staff are wonderful, helpful and told us all the best spots to visit!
Our experience on Palazzo Grillo was exquisite! The building where the hotel is located is beautiful, and lovely decorated, and the facilities, really remind Roman architecture with beautiful, great taste. We got a transfer taxi from the airport which was lovely, he was very welcome and brought us literally inside the hotel, a great experience. The hotel arranged everything and they are very punctual. The staffs at reception are friendly and very respectful. The housekeeping was excellent as well, she tidied our room even though our first night in there. The room: It is very spacious, we had a view of the patio to the church and it was great. Big room and decoration once again fantastic, comfortable beds, great shower, and water pressure. Location: it was literally 5 minutes to most of the main attractions in the city, and we loved it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Genoa.
The reception team are outstanding. Friendly so helpful and thoughtful. The hotel's location is excellent right in the middle of things. Standard room is very clean and well maintained....but basic. Very little provision for hanging clothes extra hangers were available from reception. Staying more than a couple of days and this was an issue. All said enjoyed our stay and would return.
Amazing hotel if you’re a fan of creativity and design. Every single item in there has been thought about. The building itself is so beautiful. Location is fantastic too next to bustling bohemian back streets and little squares. Not cheap but highly
recommended.
